San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino attempted and succeeded in an astounding feat Friday night in celebration of their 20th foundation Anniversary when they set a new Guinness World Record for being the Largest Bingo House. The attempt took place at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California and involved 53,991 participants, which surpasses the previous record before by over 30,000 people which was set in Canada in 1983.
The executive director of operations for the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino, Steve Lengel that it really took guts to do what San Manuel have accomplished that day. Not only that they have reached their 20th year already as a company, but they have established themselves as one of the world leaders when it comes to any form of exciting entertainment, particularly gambling.
The Dodger Stadium was temporarily been turned into an open-air bingo hall where everyone watching on the game have been made as participants and receive a bingo card to play.
The bingo game took place between the innings and the cash prizes that were awarded to the lucky players ranged from $10,000 dollars, $6,000 dollars and $4,000 dollars. The cash prizes totaled an exact $20,000 dollars in recognition of San Manuel's 20th anniversary. A representative from the Guiness World Records committee was on hand during the record attempt to officially validate the world record achievement of San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino.
Craig Glenday, the Editor-in-Chief of the Guiness World Records said that San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino has not left any stone unturned as it really prepared to accomplish and succeed in this record attempt.
Editor Glenday was personally present that day to witness the momentous occasion. The previous record of 15,756 was easily smashed by the 53,000 people who are present in the Dodgers Stadium that day. The final count places the tally at 53,991 which places the event as one of Guiness' top 20 mass participation records of all time and will be unchallenged for quite a long time.
The record attempt was part of the 20th anniversary celebration of San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino. This record attempt marks the culmination of a three month marketing campaign to promote the anniversary of San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino. The other activities that have been planned for the said occasion are distribution of millions of dollars in free slot play to participants at major Southern Californua summer events and the Million Dollar weekend promotion that will take place on July 22 and July 23. Over the duration of the whole event marking the 20th anniversary of San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino, a total of $425 million dollars will have been given away.
